The Point
The Point at the Midlands Campus is for moderate to high risk sexually reactive/aggressive females ages 11 to 17 ½ with a psychiatric disorder.
The program uses the Solutions Focused Therapy Approach to treatment. The goal of the treatment program is to explore the resident’s history of physical and/or sexual abuse, depression, drug addiction, physical and/or sexual aggression, and triggers for victimization. We help them learn or increase empathy and alternate methods of emotional expression that do not cause harm to themselves or others.
The Point is for those who:
- Display sexually reactive/aggressive behavior
- Require a secure residential setting that is separate from residents who are not sexually reactive
- Are disruptive and have been removed from home or prior placements due to sexually reactive/aggressive behavior
- Require a comprehensive long-term and intensive offense-specific treatment
- Require a psychiatric component to their treatment
